Paintings
“I wanted to show what our Country can offer… I just wanted to show here’s my country—here’s Australia.”
My paintings reveal a relationship with canvas which began almost before memory itself.
Starting at age three, I found I had a knack for art that showed up in my kindergarten drawings, which people said had surprising detail. As I grew up, I experimented with pencil drawings of dinosaurs and dragons. I was always drawing something.
These days, my canvas works feature fine dot work. I love creating images that show you something new each time you look at them.
When I work on country, I try to recognise my Mangala artistic tradition, while bringing in my own contemporary perspective. For me, my paintings are cultural documents that tell our stories.
I sell my paintings via Facebook and take commissions too.
